We release puppies from 12-14 weeks most times. At this time they weigh 20 to 24 oz .
Wer are having good success using FRESHPET human grade soft dog food found at Safeway. Twice aday for puppies in addtion to dry
You must have the following supplies for your new puppy BEFORE you bring the puppy home.

1. ESBILAC PUPPY MILK or GOATS milk in the carton found  in the milk area of your grocery
2. NUTRICAL
3. IAMS DRY FOOD and also BILL JACK DRY FOOD. Chicken forumlas for Small Breed Puppies
4. GERBER Baby RICE flakes ( only for the puppies that won't drink the puppy milk  by itself
5.  KARO SYRUP clear color ( Do not use honey)Most always low blood sugar means a SICK puppy. It is so rare for a healthy puppy not to eat and get low blood sugar that you should assume a puppy is sick if they get hypoglycemia.

BASIC FEEDING OF TINY PUPPY 1 to 1  1/2  lbs
1. Free feed your  DRY FOODS   available at all times.
Do not forget to leave fresh water out at all times too.
2. Esbilac puppy milk two to three times a day. If puppy doesn't like milk then give dry food softened in water 2 times aday
in addtion to the dry food available at all times
3.Nutrical morning and mid day
4.FRESHPET Chicken roll only. Found at Safway in the refrigerator by the pet foods


PICKY EATER?

All puppies love FRESHPET human grade dog food found at Safeway. A soft food in a roll. Buy Chicken roll only.






LACK OF APPETITE
If your Chihuahua puppy is homesick and doesn't eat, then you have to make him eat or if you are unsure how to force feed a puppy, then take him to a veterinarian for instructions on how to force feed him.

1. We find that puppies cannot resist Gerber BABYFOOD single meats and also the GERBER meatsticks.

2. You MUST use NUTRICAL three times a day  on a Chihuahua puppy who refuses to eat. One inch in the morning, one inch at noon and one inch at night while you tempt the puppy with Gerber baby meats and meat sticks.

3. Use plain unflavored Pedialyte for a puppy who is not eating. Use a large size child medicine dropper and slowly squeeze the fluid into the  Chihuahua puppies mouth.

4. ESBILAC PUPPY MILK can be given to the Chihuahua puppy by dropper. Use the larger dropper and give at least 1 oz three times aday, plus Nutrical and whatever else you can get the puppy to eat from the list given on this care form.

5. 1/2 teaspoon of  KARO  3 times aday  can  lift up a low blood sugar in a weak Chihuahua puppy.

6. DON'T FORGET ABOUT WATER! Use unflavored PEDIALYTE to add to the water. Is the urine a dark color?
If so, the puppy is probably dehydrated.

Any  Chihuahua puppy who refuses food altogether even if you force feed him/her with a dropper may be sick, and you need to get to the veterinarian and have a fecal study done.

You must not use canned dog food  for your Chihuahua puppy as it contains endotoxins from bacteria. High heat with the canning process kills the bacteria but doesn't kill these toxins that came from the bacteria. Think of endotoxins as the poop from bacteria . You kill the bacteria but the bacteria's "poop" remains in the food.
Sickly animals are often used to make canned pet foods.Chihauahua puppies are tiny and fragile and cannot handle toxins that are left over from bacteria. These toxins are not eliminated during the canning process!
